Hi TA’ers

I’m traveling to Thailand for the first time this February (first time to Asia actually!) I’ll be traveling solo, and I’m having trouble finalizing the dates on my itinerary. I’d truly love some advice.

I should mention, I have such a small amount of vacation time from work, so I always try to see/do as much as I can. I WISH I had 2-3 weeks in these beautiful places, but unfortunately I don’t.

So that being said, I’ll be in the country from February 13th to February 21st (with a stopover in Cambodia at the beginning or end). Only my flight into and out of Bangkok is booked, the rest is still TBD.

There are 3 itineraries I’m considering:

Option one

Feb 13th – Arrive Bangkok at 6:30pm

Feb 14th – spend day exploring city, evening flight to one of the islands (Phuket or Krabi, I’m still deciding. And yes I know there are a ton of posts on this topic, I’m still researching ?

Feb 15th – 17th islands

Feb 18th – early flight from islands to Cambodia

Feb 20th – evening flight back to Bangkok

Feb 21st – early flight home

Option 2

Feb 13th – Arrive Bangkok at 6:30pm, catch connecting flight to Chiang Mai (I checked and there are options)

Feb 14th – Chiang Mai

Feb 15th – evening flight from Chiang Mai to island (island tbd)

Feb 18th – evening flight to Cambodia

Feb 20th – evening flight to Bangkok

Feb 21st – early flight home

Option 3

Feb 13th – arrive Bangkok at 6:30pm

Feb 14th – spend day in city, evening flight to Cambodia

Feb 17th – early flight to the islands

Feb 20 –flight back to Bangkok

Feb 21st – early flight home

I should mention I do know there are no direct flights from the islands to Cambodia and vice versa, and this will affect travel duration. However I’m still leaning towards option 2!

I know these itineraries are not ideal, would one of these be better? Is there another combination you would suggest?

Thank you in advance!
